Grrr
Knitting at lunch:
Her: What are you knitting Anna?
Me: It's going to be a sweater!
Her: What happened to those socks you were making for Brad?
Me: Oh they're done
Brad: I'm wearing them! Wanna see?
Her: Ooh they're lovely. Aren't you lucky to have such a good old-fashioned wife? Does she warm your slippers for you too?
GRRRRRRRR

This comment reminds me of an icy article my friend acechick directed me too. Cannie believe it! http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/opinion.cfm?id=219922005

Do I detect a bit of jealousy in "Her" - perhaps what she was really trying to say was, "Wow, what a hip, creative person you are making beautiful, cherished things with your hands. Will you teach me?".

People never cease to amaze me. A couple of years ago, my husband helped himself to some of the snacks his coworkers set out as a special treat...one of the ladies watching him said something to the effect of, "looks like your wife didn't pack you a big enough lunch...she needs to go back to 'wife school.'" Ummm...excuse me? I agree with Nona that "Her" seems to be suffering from jealousy...she could really use such a nice interpreter :)

'Her' is jealous. That is most irritating....

Um, obnoxious. And what's worse, that's totally the type of comment that elicits fantastic responses later, in the middle of the night, when the moment has long passed.
