Kiri goes to the opera
This winsome creature is my Dear Mother. On the occasion of her 60th birthday she was given rather good seats to see Turandot, by Puccini, at the Royal Opera House no less, and the Limeleaf Kiri went too. Don’t they look lovely?

Here she is with the equally winsome Harvey, 19. Harvey’s favourite thing (after food) is being allowed to wear a bow. He starts to purr as soon as you approach him with a ribbon.

And to round off this bevvy of beauties, roses Souvenir du Dr Jamain, and L D Braithwaite, in their own lime green leaf clothes.

(Yes, the patterns. Yes, I’m working on them.)

How gorgeous is your mother, and Kiri on her. And Harvey--too charmant for words. If only he could accomany her to the opera in his matching finery.

I don't know who looks happier--your mom or the cat? But they both look lovely (as does the shawl). Our old dachshund, Jilly, used to love wearing bows, too . . . until the ends started tickling her ears. (She didn't believe in suffering for fashion.) And, the opera? I saw the Marriage of Figaro at Covent Garden for my 21st birthday back in 1987. Of course, I was in the cheap seats, and all by myself--I couldn't get any of my friends to go with me! (Ewww, the OPERA??)

Your mom certainly doesn't look 60. I can feel that she is a woman with a great sense of humour ... lovely! Happy birthday to her.

If fifty is the new forty then your Mum makes it look like sixty is the new forty too. Good for her! My namesake moggy is only ten but has arthritis and is on some wonderful doggy drug that gives him such a lift I'm seriously thinking of putting some on my cornflakes. Isn't this the greatest year for roses, especially those old romantics - you can't beat them!.

Look at your cute Mom! She does not look 60. Hope she had a fabulous time!

I love the idea of a cat that likes to look good. I always knew that cats had a vain streak, but that's just fantastic. I love Kiri in all it's forms and just happen to have some lime green lurking somewhere.

Ooooh! Kiri looks lovely on you Mom! And what a precious, precious furball. I got my boy a trenchcoat, but he hates wearing it. Maybe I should see how he likes bows, then maybe I could move up to ties? That would be nice. :D

I don't believe your mother is 60 - wow! And Harvey 19?? He looks so dashing in his green ribbon. I hope your mom had a great birthday and a wonderful time at the Opera - she was certainly dressed for the occassion - Kiri against that black dress is very special indeed.

Hi there. I just found your graph for the modified neckline on nothin' but a t-shirt. If there is any way you are still giving this away, I'd so love to get it. Thanks. Love your knitting!
