Tiggy at last

I just had to share the joy of Tiggy, finished not half an hour ago. All that ruflette tape was sewn in place by hand, so it took a while. But I think it was worth it; you can use the pockets now without the fronts stretching out of shape. And I did my usual trick of reinforcing the neckline with some stitching, so as to put a curb on how much the stitches there can stretch. The length of the sleeves feels extremely practical - no need to roll up for cooking or other types of mess-making.

Cute! I love it, and you're right about the sleeves.
So, how do you name your patterns?

Posted by: Carrie at April 4, 2006 08:51 PM

It's gorgeous, Anna. I've been a lurker her a while now but I had to come out of hiding to tell you that Tiggy is absolutely lovely. Very fine work as usual. :)

Oh my gosh, it is really lovely. I've been watching this one eagerly, it is wonderful to see the finished object looking so beautiful. I loved the whole Upstairs Downstairs thing and it is nice to see something so elegant in a heavier yarn.

Oh my it is even more lovely than I thought it would be! I think this is my new favorite as well! It's so unique & elegant!! *swoon*

Posted by: Leah at April 4, 2006 10:17 PM

cute and unique. The contrasting tape really makes the whole cardi.

I love those pockets; they look like they are swollen with many useful things.

Anna that is just beautiful!! The shape of the sleeves is just lovely.

Posted by: claudine at April 5, 2006 02:34 AM

Practical and stylish. I love your style! =)

Posted by: kessa at April 5, 2006 03:42 AM

Oh, Anna, you've done it again!

It looks tres gamine and a little dangerous.

I love how your take a design problem (the gaping pockets) and convert it to a design advantage with the ribbon trim. The Silkroad Aran is the perfect yarn, too.

Bravo!

This is the first item of knitwear that I have ever seen on any site that I would NOT make any changes to. It looks so sweet! The pockets are perfect! The tape really completes it. You do need a pair of clunky yellow galoshes and a London Fog umbrella to go with it.

Posted by: Christina at April 5, 2006 04:28 AM

This is adorable! I really love the details in your designs. I hope we'll see a pattern soon. I'd love to make one of my own.

Posted by: Stephanie at April 5, 2006 04:31 AM

what an incredibly creative and clever knitting mind you have!

another classic.

I love that yarn...I knitted my rogue in it and I love the tweedyness - pure delight. Feel the same? I love the neutral as well.

lovely.

Lovely! Very ecclectic, whimsical, quirky, practical, stylish and best of all, it's all that wrapped up in one! I just found your blog. Love your writing, your patterns, and the look of your blog. I will definitely be back for more.
