For your diary

I mentioned to some at the Socktopus launch on Friday, and am passing on to the rest of you now, that, if can get to London on 18th November (a little early Christmas shopping, perhaps?) you must plan to come up to Loop. Loop is playing host to the official UK launch of Sabrina Gschwandtner's new book KnitKnit (about which I have heard good things, and on which you will hear more when my copies arrive).

My own dear pattern for Bridie is published therein, along with some prose about me. Little loaf permitting, I'll be attending the launch and would love to see you there. The launch is free to attend, but you should phone Loop and let them know you're coming. You can find more information here (scroll down to the end of the page).

Joining her will be the contributers - some of the most exciting people working in knitting today - Erika Knight, Freddie Robbins, Rachel Matthews...

And me! Hilarious!

It's a great book -- I got mine (solely to have Bridie) and read it late last week. Lots of fun, and very inspiring! I'm glad to have purchased it.

Congratulations! Sounds like a wonderful book, and to have Bridie officially published therein must feel wonderful. The launch sounds like a lot of fun. I wish I could hop "across the pond" to attend. (I wish it were that easy, LOL!) Have a great time, be sure to let us know all about it - and maybe post a pic or two if you can.

Congratulations for sure! I'm so looking forward to the pattern for Bridie being published - I've been in awe of it for a long time. :) I hope for similar things for my own patterns, but it will probably be a while before any of them reach such great heights! Best wishes ~gabriella

I think I met you at the launch but I didn't realise that you were you if that makes sense!

I hope I can make it to Loop for the book launch!

And congratulations!! :)

Anna, I saw the book at the bookstore. Congrats, the profile of you is lovely and I have always loved the Birdie design. Do you ever plan on selling it again as an individual pdf on your site?

Some of the other designers in there were kind of out there, but there were also many many names I recognized - Norah Gaughan, Teva Durham, Erika Knight, etc. How wonderful it must be to be in such company! Congrats again :)

My friend Pat bought the book (paid £15) just for your design! I think that's the most expensive pattern she's ever purchased! You deserve to be in such company, Anna, your stuff is lovely.

We wait on pins and needles for the launch of your first book.

Damn!Damn! I'm in London at the beginning of October! How's that for planning?
Oh well just have to buy the book, which naturally you are in Anna, you are one of most exciting designers in knitting today.

I already bought the book and am truly enjoying it. I've already started Bridie and have a long list of other things I want to make - Norah Gaughan's handbag, Risto Bimbiloski's Paris Jacket, Lisa Anne Auerbach's geodesic hat. The book is sitting next to my bed and in between bouts of knitting I flip through it and have stayed up til 3 in the morning reading and re-reading. I'm going to come to the Loop party so I can meet you and l can't wait!

Oh no, the one London knitting event of which I have advance warning and desire to go, and I am going to be in Thailand. Still, I am going to be in Thailand (if all goes to plan). Congratulations, Anna! Good news. Are you very excited, or still rushing around and tired? Hugs xxx

I'm moving to London this weekend. This is brilliant! I am however a tiny bit miffed in a very selfish way because now everyone's going to have a bridie... I was rather enjoying being lucky enough to have knitted one before the pattern had to dissapear. Can't wait for this event and would be lovely to put a face to a much read blog.

I don't think it's hilarious... I think it's quite fitting!

Have fun! I'd come if it weren't for the pesky little fact that half of the Earth is in the way. :)

KnitKnit is such a delicious book! I first paged through it at a Borders, and thinking about it afterward I got so giddy I could have cried. All those creative people, all that amazing knitting...wonderful. Bridie is adorable, and is on my short list of want-to-knits. Thank you!

i browsed through the book's pages at my bookstore earlier this week. while everything was lovely, i bought it solely on the basis of your Bridie pattern. can't wait to enjoy the rest of it though.
