Verse for spring

I saw a jolly hunter
With a jolly gun,
Walking in the country
In the jolly sun.
In the jolly meadow
Sat a jolly hare,
Saw the jolly hunter,
Took jolly care.
Hunter jolly eager -
Sight of jolly prey,
Forgot gun pointing
Wrong jolly way.
Jolly hunter jolly head
Over heels gone,
Jolly old safety catch
Not jolly on.
Bang went the jolly gun.
Hunter jolly dead.
Jolly hare got clean away,
'Jolly good', I said.

I read this yesterday, and Grumbles and I have been saying "Jolly good!" ever since.

disturbing verse :)

...as the 'nature' of living things
...as the imposed 'order' of the world

to capture, conqure and consume

for a brief moment,
the hares huddle heart-to-heart and paw-to-paw
savoring the quiet that has been returned to the 'jolly country'

Jolly little poem! Can we see the awfully jolly blanket too?

Anna - I am knitting 'Sally' and wanted to reference the pattern on my site - however Magknits is no more so the pattern is not available. I have a copy of it so no problem for me, but it is such a good design - maybe you could offer it on your own site now?

Cheers!
